Washington, D.C. — A coalition of hundreds of Indigenous, climate, and social justice organizations are planning a major mobilization at the White House next week to push President BIden to declare a climate emergency and stop all new fossil fuel projects. 
 
The “People vs. Fossil Fuels” mobilization will involve five days of planned civil disobedience at the White House and Congress. Thousands of people have registered for the protest and hundreds are expected to risk arrest, including frontline representatives from different fossil fuel fights around the country. 
 
This Wednesday, October 6 at 3:00pm ET spokespeople for the mobilization will be holding a press call to lay out the case for why President Biden must act on fossil fuels and preview next week’s protests.

Speakers will address President Biden’s failure to stop the Line 3 pipeline, respect Indigenous rights, end drilling on public lands, and protect BIPOC communities from new fossil fuel projects. They will also address the recent oil spill in California and how the administration could be using its executive authority to stop new fossil fuel development and address existing pollution.
