President Biden campaigned on being a climate champion. But a year into his presidency–after millions of Black, Brown, Indigenous, and frontline communities and young people turned out in record numbers to the polls in the middle of a global pandemic to elect him–we’ve seen Biden fail to tackle the climate crisis with the urgency it demands. Biden will give his first State of the Union address on March 1st. Before then, we’re gathering with partners in the Build Back Fossil Free coalition for a Peoples State of the Union to demand that Biden stop approving fossil fuel projects and declare a climate emergency.

POTUS on Notice: Frontline calls for no more broken climate promises!
With the stroke of a pen, Biden could stop dangerous fossil fuel projects like the Line 3 pipeline and Formosa Plastics project that will poison communities and exacerbate the climate crisis. But instead, he’s repeatedly used his pen to prop up fossil fuel corporations. The Biden administration has approved 3,557 permits for oil and gas drilling on public lands, given away massive checks to fossil fuel corporations, and hosted the largest offshore oil and gas lease in U.S. history.
Enough is enough: it’s time we remind Biden who he is really accountable to and demand that he keep fossil fuels in the ground.
During the rally, you’ll hear from frontline leaders who are working tirelessly to halt fossil fuel projects across the country. We’ll share the top 10 actions that President Biden can take to stop fossil fuels and address the climate crisis, as well as give you immediate ways to take action and put pressure on the White House before the State of the Union. We won’t stop until Biden uses his pen to end the era of fossil fuels!
