Dear All

FLIGHT INFORMATION

The official starting date of the Pre-Summit will be on the 20th August 2002. We therefore urge all delegates to arrive at the Johannesburg International Airport on the 19Th August 2002 preferably during the morning, especially for those who have to travel by bus. To enable us to make all the necessary arrangements in due time and to make full use of the four days at our disposal we urgently request the following information:

  1. The number and names of delegates per region. (To date we have only received names from three groups which add to only 28 delegates. Please be reminded that we have made provision for at least 100 International delegates)
  2. The number of Delegates flying directly to Kimberley.
  3. The number of Delegates who will need bus transport from Johannesburg of Kimberley and back to Johannesburg. (This is more cost effective and allows for more interaction with local indigenous people)
  4. We need the flight details, arrival and departure times, of all delegates.
  5. Number of delegates who want special dietary preferences.
  6. Please indicate the number of delegates that are willing to share a room or who prefer single rooms.
  7. Delegates, who have sharing preferences, please indicate.

The weather in Kimberley is warm (about 20 degrees Celsius during the day and drops at night to almost 0 degrees Celsius). It’s the start of the spring rainy season, but due to climatic changes this is unpredictable. There are no malaria hazards in this area and drinking water is clean and reliable and bottled water will be available.

Attached please find a registration form to be completed by each delegate and returned to us no later than Wednesday 31st July 2002. This would enable us to send invitation letters directly to the delegates for visa applications.

Registration forms and information for the Global Peoples’ Forum is available on www.worldsummit.org.za Please let us know if there are any delegates who do not have access to the website so that we can forward the necessary information to them.

Your prompt response will be highly appreciated.

Warm Friendly Khoi-San African Greetings
