Dear IEN – WMAN,
The Kawaiisu Tribe of Tejon, California USA, signed a Treaty with the United States on December 30, 1849, Ratified on September 9, 1850. The U.S. Eastern District Court in California recently Verified that Treaty. Over the last 160+ years the United States has held the Kawaiisu Tribe and people with no reguard or standing. We have been fighting the mining on our Treaty lands but we have been treated as if we do not matter. We are the poorest Tribe in the United States and the largest Tribe in California. We are now recognized through the Treaty which is the "Law of the Land", as stated in the U.S. Constitution. If we could get the funding we could make a huge difference for Mother Earth and our Tribe.
