The
Indigenous Peoples Council on Biocolonialism (IPCB
(web site)) is an Indigenous sister organization that
is organized to assist Indigenous Peoples in the protection of their
genetic resources, indigenous knowledge, cultural and human rights
from the negative effects of biotechnology. The IPCB provides educational
and technical support to Indigenous Peoples in the protection of
their biological resources, cultural integrity, knowledge and collective
rights.

The Indigenous Peoples Coalition Against Biopiracy is a coalition committed to protect indigenous peoples biological resources from exploitation.

The IPBC is a project of the Enowkin Centre in Penticton, British Columbia, with a field office and staff located on the Pyramid Lake Reservation in Nixon, Nevada.

Coalition members include several Indigenous peoples organizations from throughout the Americas. The IPBC also maintains a listserv to share current information with Coalition members.

The IPBC Web Site is provided as a resource to Tribal Governments, organizations and others concerned about the issue of biopiracy, and its impact on Indigenous peoples.

In order to facilitate research, this site brings together several previously published documents relevent to the topic of human genetic research. These documents are provided in their original, unaltered format and all rights remain with the original authors. This includes documents by the National Institute of Environmental Health Services, UNESCO, Rural Advancement Foundation International, Society for Achaeological Advancement, and the Human Genome Diversity Project, and others.
